A lot of this depends on the topic and purpose of the private lesson and how much time you practice on your own. Here are some examples:
Our course classes are 1.5h and will cover a lot of material and exercises. Obviously we hope that you won’t miss a class but we understand that due to work, illness or other priorities you might need to miss a course class.
This is when you might feel that you wan’t to catch up before the next class and book a Recovery Private lesson so we can cover the material of the class. There might be someone else that missed the class so after you checked the availability of the teacher(s) you can ask in our Avec Family Group if there’s someone else that could join.
These are the kind of Private Lessons you take after a specific course class where you had some questions or want some more examples on how to implement them into your social dancing. As you already covered the material we straight away can focus on the details for you to get a better understanding of the techniques and details so you can implement it in your own dancing faster. We recommend you to take these kind of classes more regularly as it will greatly improve how fast you develop and implement our course material. And surely there might have been more people in the class with similar questions so if you plan on having an Improvement Private Lesson and if you are interested you can always ask in the class or in our Avec Family Group if there’s others interested in joining a private lesson.
SPECIAL TOPIC PRIVATES
These kind of privates can be on any topic you want to develop. This can be following, leading, stepping technique, musicality, spinning, bounce, body movement, isolations, styling or maybe even a new dance. These kind of privates tend to provide you a lot of information, exercises and movements to practice which your mind and body need time to process. So these kind of private lessons we recommend to have only once a month or so. This will give you time to practice on your own and to put it into practice in course classes and in your social dancing.
